Which time zone should I choose?
Pick the time zone where the event happens. Choose "device local time" only for floating events that should follow the scanner's own clock.
Can the end time be before the start time?
No. The generator checks that the end is not earlier than the start and shows a clear message if it is.
Will special characters in the title break the code?
No. Commas, semicolons, line breaks and backslashes are escaped to the iCalendar standard so calendars read them correctly.
Do guests need a special app to scan it?
Most modern phone cameras can recognise the calendar payload and offer to save it, but support varies by device, scanner and calendar app. Test the code on a few phones before printing it.
